In the east coast there’s nothing bigger in women’s track & field than the Colgate women’s Games. The Games are hosted in New York City, with the preliminaries and semi-finals being held in Brooklyn, NY at the Pratt athletic recreation center. 20 of the Nation’s top Olympians have tested their skills at the Colgate games. Track officials call this event the biggest in the World for Woman’s track.

The Colgate Games is a 4 week competition that ends with the top performers showcasing in the finals at the prestigious New Balance Track & Field Center in New York, NY. This event has a rich history Similar to the world famous Millrose games held at Madison Square Garden. One of the greatest things about the Colgate Games is that the event is fully funded by the Palmolive Company so all athletes compete free of charge.

Founder/Director Fred Thompson stated “There are so many new people that compete in our event every year. The level of talent seen at our event stems from beginners to veteran performers. Because of the talent involved in the event many performers learn how to compete at a high level. What separates the Colgate Games from other major track & Field events is that we award Scholarships to 1st place through 4th place winners. I love to see these kids compete at a high level and develop their talent.”

Fred Thompson started the Colgate games in 1973 and set a goal to have an elite track event for female athletes. He and his staff have been able to stay on track with their goal and deliver one of the best track meets in the Country every year.
