At the Pan American Junior Championships in Edmonton/Alberta,Canada. Vashti Cunningham had a Gold medal record breaking High Jump of 6ft 5inches.
She wasn’t the only Cunningham to take first and win a Gold medal. Vashti’s brother Randall Cunningham II won with a High Jump of 2.16 meters, just shy of his personal best of 2.26meters. Both Vashti & Randall II seem to be in for a Brother sister combo at the 2016 Olympics in Rio if they take top three in the U.S. Olympic trials.
How can you go wrong with your dad being Pro QB great Randall Cunningham. An All-Pro NFL veteran for 16 years and former top high jump champion himself back in his 79-81 high school years.
Randall Sr. has been coaching his kids for the last 6 years. Vashti Cunningham standing at 6’1 and Randall II standing 6’7 have taken the high jump world by storm. They have chosen to focus on the task of both making the 2016 Olympic team and representing the U.S.
